'In The Know' Post Baby Hair and what to Expect!

Your little bundle of joy has arrived! After months of comments about your pregnancy Glow and the benefits that came with it from your extra thick, super shiny hair that grew like wild fires. It's all changed again.

Postpartum hair loss commonly starts at around three months after birth. Hair loss can Feel more extreme if your hair grew much more than normal during pregnancy, or if you have long hair. Don't worry: your hair will return to your usual hair growth cycle within six months or between 6 and 12 months after birth.

Not all women will experience this condition but it can affect up to 90% of women, so it's good to be prepared!

What can you do to help it?

1. Keep taking (or start re-taking) your prenatal vitamins. Healthy diet means healthy

scalp as well as healthy hair.

2. Don’t wrap wet hair in towels or any sort of turban thing. They tug and can cause

breakage and weakness, thus hampering the overall growth rate of your hair.

3. Buy a Wet Brush to comb out your wet hair. I swear, these brushes are AMAZING !!!

If the hair loss is very extreme it might be time to embrace a new style, although I always approach this with caution.
