My Favourite Looks from the Met Gala

It's the biggest night of the year when it comes to having fun with fashion - the Met Gala! Every year, the biggest stars in the world all descend on New York to celebrate the fusion of fashion, beauty and art, and this year was a spectacle like no other. Based on the theme of “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination", superstars went all-out to showcase some jawdropping looks. Below I've rounded up my favourites from the night...

Lily Collins in Givenchy

Lily always looks so dainty and feminine, so her elegant Gothic look at the Met Gala exceeded expectations. Her floaty black Givenchy gown was the perfect backdrop to an intricately braided, almost sculptural updo, complete with a futuristic crown, and dramatic makeup inspired by the occult. It was a gorgeous complete look that blended hits of Gothic beauty with classical romanticism.

Kim Kardashian in Versace

Kim is always a knockout, let's be honest - and while her glimmering golden Versace dress wasn't the most 'out there' on the red carpet, I want to talk about her luscious long ponytail. Using extra-long extensions, Kim wore her hair in a waist-length ponytail that felt both glamorous and romantic - it's a very Hollywood look and perfect to recreate for special occasions.

Jared Leto in Gucci

Never a man to shy away from a strong outfit, Jared look the religious theme very seriously, and came to the Met Gala in a blue custom Gucci suit, complete with tapestry lapels and a gold leaf crown. His look was obviously heavily inspired by imagery of Jesus - perhaps controversial, but a very stylish look nonetheless. His tousled hair and full beard are likely to be very popular looks with the guys this summer!

Amanda Seyfried in Prada

Looking like a romantic Renaissance vision in a Vatican-yellow Prada gown, Amanda Seyfried was a real stand-out star on the night for me. I adore her big, blown-out waves and the delicate crown she wore in her hair - for me, this would be a beautiful look for any midsummer brides this year.

Blake Lively in Versace

Blake Lively always looks fantastic, and she did not disappoint with her incredible custom Versace gown. In embroidered burgundy and gold, Blake looked like a goddess - and I loved the complementary smoky burgundy eye, paired with a voluminous, romantic updo and of course, that halo crown.

Sienna Miller in Louis Vuitton

Sienna is a client of mine and we all know that she always looks beautiful, so it's no surprise that her Met Gala look was utterly gorgeous once again. Wearing a simple white blouse with a showstopping gold sequinned skirt, Sienna sported her signature soft waves, accessorised with a star-themed headpiece. Wearable and wonderful - full marks Miss Miller!
